The German audio manufacturer Audio Video Manufaktur (AVM) is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year. We previously wrote about the new integrated reference amplifier Ovation AS XL , which was shown to the public during the recent High End Vienna. In addition to the new Ovation AS XL reference amplifier, the brand is also presenting the Ovation MA 8.3 S mono power amplifier and the Ovation SA 8.3 S stereo power amplifier. With this, the new Ovation S series is now complete.
AVM Ovation

The new Ovation MA 8.3 S and SA 8.3 S build upon the previously introduced CS 8.3 S all-in-one, AS 8.3 S integrated streaming amplifier, PAS 8.3 S preamplifier, and MP 8.3 S media player. Both power amplifiers feature AVM's latest tube input stage, fully balanced circuitry, and powerful Class A/AB output stages. The MA 8.3 S delivers a maximum of 1,200 Watts as a monoblock, while the SA 8.3 S is good for 400 Watts per channel. According to AVM, both models combine enormous power reserves with refined, musical reproduction and an exceptionally spacious soundstage.

However, the absolute eye-catcher at the trade fair was the new Ovation AS XL. This integrated streaming amplifier is based on the technology of the new power amplifiers and delivers more than 400 watts per channel. The addition of “XL” refers not only to the impressive size of the amplifier but also to the Roman numeral 40, as a tribute to AVM’s anniversary year. In doing so, the manufacturer emphatically positions the AS XL as the new top model within the range.

To mark the anniversary, AVM is also introducing a limited Bronze Edition of various CS 2.3 and AS 2.3 models from the Inspiration series. These special editions are distinguished by a very sharply reduced price and an exclusive bronze finish, and are produced for a limited period only.

Since its founding in 1986, AVM has manufactured all its equipment in its own factory in Malsch, Germany. With the completion of the Ovation S-series and the introduction of the AS XL, the company demonstrates that traditional German build quality can go hand in hand with modern streaming technology and uncompromising high-end performance.
