Softears has officially introduced the Karma, a new flagship in-ear monitor that showcases the company's most ambitious engineering effort to date. Positioned above the popular Edge and SE6 Live, the Karma succeeds the acclaimed Cerberus and combines five different driver technologies into a single premium design. Inspired by the concept of “Samsara” or rebirth, the new model represents a fresh chapter for Softears' portable high-end audio lineup.
Ten-driver hybrid architecture
At the heart of the Softears Karma is an exceptionally sophisticated hybrid driver system featuring ten drivers per earpiece. Rather than relying on a single driver technology, Softears combines dynamic, balanced armature, bone conduction, electrostatic, and MEMS drivers, with each handling a specific part of the frequency spectrum.
The foundation of the sound comes from a newly developed 10 mm dynamic driver featuring a biological wool diaphragm, designed to deliver deep, controlled bass with excellent texture and impact.
Supporting the low frequencies are two Sonion 37AAX bone conduction drivers. Unlike conventional drivers, these transmit vibration through the shell itself, adding physicality and a more immersive sense of weight to bass notes and lower midrange frequencies.

Balanced mids and extended treble
The midrange is reproduced by four custom-tuned full-range balanced armature drivers, engineered to deliver a neutral tonal balance with natural vocal presentation and accurate instrument timbre.
For the highest frequencies, Softears combines two electrostatic (EST) drivers with a next-generation thin-film PZT MEMS driver. This combination is intended to provide exceptional transient response, greater airiness, and extended treble while avoiding the harshness sometimes associated with highly detailed in-ear monitors.
Interestingly, Softears notes that the MEMS driver does not require an external high-voltage amplifier, simplifying the crossover design while maintaining high-frequency performance.

Premium titanium construction
Instead of the acrylic resin shells commonly found in high-end IEMs, the Karma features precision CNC-machined titanium alloy housings. The dense metal construction is designed to minimize unwanted resonance while improving overall structural rigidity.
Each shell receives a combination of matte and polished finishes, while the faceplates feature a distinctive asymmetrical “K” motif that gives the flagship a unique visual identity.
High-end cable included
Softears includes a premium detachable cable built from high-purity 7N OCC copper with a silver-plated coaxial dual-layer design. The cable uses industry-standard 0.78 mm two-pin connectors and terminates in a balanced 4.4 mm Pentaconn plug housed in CNC-machined titanium, making it compatible with modern high-end digital audio players and headphone amplifiers.

Price and availability
The Softears Karma is available now with a suggested retail price of $2,599, placing it firmly in the ultra-premium in-ear monitor category. With its ambitious ten-driver architecture, titanium construction, and combination of multiple driver technologies, the Karma aims to compete directly with the flagship offerings from the biggest names in portable high-end audio.
