The Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII network audio player, in addition to updated electronics and software, also received a proprietary application for controlling the device. The model can connect to the network both wired and via Wi-Fi. Its declared parameters: noise level less than 145 dB and SOI less than 0.0005%.
The Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII case is protected from vibrations, its luxurious design, combining black color with gold keys, corresponds to the company’s canons. On the left side of the acrylic front panel there is a display with large characters that can display the operating mode, selected input, sampling frequency, volume level, etc. In the center of the facade there is a standby button, which also serves to activate the system restart function. There are 4 buttons arranged crosswise on the right side. Two of them adjust the volume, and the second pair switches operating modes and selects the input.
Inside the Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII case you can install an SSD drive or HDD in 3.5″ and 2.5″ form factors for storing/playing media files. To do this, just remove the cover with grooves located in the bottom of the device, attach it to it using SSD or HDD screws and connect the connectors.
For integration into a local network, use the LAN port or built-in Wi-Fi module. This makes it possible to play media files from a computer or NAS server. DLNA and UPnP protocols are supported. The model works with a stream from the Internet, including: Web radio stations, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz. To control the Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII, you can use a remote control or an application installed on mobile devices based on Android or iOS. Control via a web browser is available.
To convert the digital signal to analog, the CS4398 chip (24 bit/192 kHz) is used, which can work with the DSD stream directly. The PCM signal is upsampled to 24-bit/192 kHz before entering the DAC. Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII has the following inputs: two coaxial, 2 optical, 1 USB port for external drives and a LAN interface. Outputs: coaxial, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA. The media player is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth circuit. There is a trigger input and output. The power switch is located on the back of the case.
The Electrocompaniet ECM 1 MKII media player is equipped with high-quality analog circuits and has an extremely low distortion coefficient. Its sound is distinguished by detail, precision, naturalness, as well as a warm and open character.
