BonaWatt Tamesis: Single-Ended Tube Elegance for the Discerning Listener

The emerging Polish brand BonaWatt, known for its dedication to high-quality tube-based audio equipment, has unveiled two integrated amplifiers: the hybrid BonaWatt Triton and the all-tube, single-ended BonaWatt Tamesis. While the Triton has already generated considerable buzz, today we turn our attention to the Tamesis — a true purist’s amplifier designed for refined listening experiences.

A Promising Debut on the Global Stage

BonaWatt made a confident entry into the audiophile world at the Warsaw Audio Video Show 2025, where the brand’s sleek industrial designs and impressive sonic performance drew immediate attention. The momentum continued at the High End Show 2025 in Munich, where BonaWatt’s amplifiers stood out among Europe’s most prestigious audio brands.

The BonaWatt Tamesis: Tube Purism with Modern Precision

At the heart of the BonaWatt Tamesis lies a Class A, single-ended, ultra-linear circuit, powered by a pair of KT77 beam tetrodes and 6SL7GT preamp tubes. The amplifier delivers 11.5 watts per channel into both 4 and 8-ohm loads, making it a perfect match for high-efficiency loudspeakers and intimate, detail-rich listening environments.

The design employs Parabolic Power Bias™ technology for optimized performance and a rich, harmonically engaging sound. The Tamesis offers an impressive frequency response of 6 Hz to 40 kHz (-3 dB), ensuring remarkable transparency and extension across the audible spectrum. Harmonic distortion remains under control at less than 2.8% at 1 kHz, highlighting the engineering precision behind its sonic character.

Built for the Serious Listener

The amplifier features a 128-step stepped attenuator for precise volume control, utilizing military-grade resistors and high-end Japanese electromagnetic relays with silver-plated contacts. These choices ensure low signal degradation and long-term reliability. The entire unit is housed in a solid chassis weighing 27 kg, underscoring its robust build quality.

In keeping with BonaWatt’s understated aesthetic, the Tamesis is offered in black, silver, and gold finishes, and both its function and form exude minimalist sophistication. A comprehensive remote control allows for volume adjustment, input selection, mute, and display brightness — blending traditional tube design with modern convenience.

Despite its vintage soul, the Tamesis includes practical contemporary features like standby mode with under 1W power draw and trigger outputs, making it easy to integrate into more complex audio systems.
