The British company Cambridge Audio presents the Alva TT V2 record player. Perhaps its main feature is the direct drive of the support disk, thanks to which the developers managed to obtain a low detonation coefficient of only 0.06%. The manufacturer declares the choice of this design as guaranteeing more accurate rotation speed. The support plate itself is made of polyformaldehyde, a thermoplastic used in parts that require high rigidity and dimensional stability.
The company’s engineers abandoned the use of a belt drive due to the fact that it is less durable, since over time the belt will stretch and will have to be replaced. In addition, the Direct Drive design guarantees higher accuracy of disk rotation speed. Built-in Bluetooth aptX HD means music can be streamed to any compatible Bluetooth set, including headphones, at Hi-Res quality up to 24-bit/48kHz.
After many hours of testing, our engineers selected a new high mass, low resonance tonearm for the Alva TT V2 and Alva ST. By minimizing resonant frequencies and in combination with the cartridge, it helps extract maximum detail from your recordings. The removable die-cast aluminum body makes it easy to replace cartridges and then adjust with greater precision thanks to the new anti-slip dial.
The player has an extremely laconic design with a minimum number of controls located on the top panel of the case, made of aluminum. There is only a power supply/standby button and two keys for selecting rotation speeds (33.3 or 45 rpm), combined with the Start/Stop function. The support plate is made of polyoxymethylene POM (polyformaldehyde), a dense, high-tech structural thermoplastic that provides high rigidity as well as stable rotation speed. To protect against dust, the kit includes a transparent, easily removable lid with a hinge.
The tonearm comes pre-installed with a high-output MC head, and what’s more, the player has a built-in phono preamplifier, so it’s a ready-to-use analog signal source. If you are a fan of modern technology, then built-in Bluetooth aptX HD is at your service.
In addition, a phono preamplifier was built into the turntable, and an MC cartridge was installed on the direct, lightweight tonearm. According to the developers, the presence of a Bluetooth module makes life easier for the owner, since the player can be placed anywhere without connecting it with wires to the speakers. To provide an “authentic vinyl experience,” Cambridge Audio used an aptX HD module that delivers a 24-bit/48 kHz signal. For convenience, a phono stage was built in. Last but not least, the new product even comes with a dustproof cover. The Cambridge Audio ALVA TT V2 turntable is for vinyl lovers who, like you, want great sound, ease of use and stylish looks.
