Acoustic Energy has introduced the completely redesigned 300 Series loudspeakers. According to the manufacturer, this series has been thoroughly reimagined, drawing on insights gained from the development of the flagship Corinium. The lineup features a stand-alone model, an LCR model, and two floorstanding variants.
Acoustic Energy 300 Series
The core of the new 300 Series features a completely redesigned mid-woofer, made from a distinctive combination of paper and coconut shell. This innovative proprietary driver is said by the designers to provide a smooth, natural, and refined sound profile, merging warmth and clarity with the dynamic impact characteristic of traditional aluminum cones. Additionally, the series incorporates a newly engineered soft-dome tweeter, inspired by the tweeter found in the Corinium, which produces open, delicate, and natural high frequencies, ensuring a seamless blend throughout the entire audible spectrum.
The 300 Series introduces constrained layer RSC (Resonance Suppression Composite) cabinets at this price level for the first time, a technology that was initially launched in the Reference Series nearly fifteen years ago. This innovative construction method significantly minimizes cabinet radiation, enabling the drive units to operate without interference and delivering a sound that is pure, uncolored, and natural. Additionally, the cabinets have been designed to be slimmer without increasing their depth, and the LCR model AE307² features an ultra-shallow sealed cabinet with a passive radiator, enhancing its suitability for wall-mounting. The crossover design also incorporates techniques from the development of the flagship Corinium floorstander, effectively reducing phase distortion and maintaining the speakers’ musicality.
Acoustic Energy has transitioned from the high-gloss finishes of the former 300 Series to a newly engineered, exceptionally durable silky-matte material, complemented by premium grille fabrics. This change results in a contemporary design that retains the unique identity of Acoustic Energy.
The updated 300 Series speakers come in walnut, matte black, or matte white with a satin gloss finish. Pricing and delivery details are still pending.
