Magico has unveiled the A3 2027, a substantial redesign of the American manufacturer’s A3 floorstanding loudspeaker. Scheduled to begin shipping in the first quarter of 2027, the new three-way model introduces a revised aluminum enclosure, four newly developed drivers and a redesigned crossover.
Measurement-led enclosure development
The original A3 arrived in 2017, but its successor is more than a cosmetic update. Magico developed the A3 2027 using measurement systems initially employed for the flagship M9, applying the resulting data to the cabinet structure and acoustic design.
A laser vibrometer was used to examine vibration across the enclosure panels. Those measurements allowed Magico to evaluate and refine the placement of internal bracing and damping materials. The company also employed a robotic Near-Field Scanner to map the speaker’s acoustic output across a surrounding three-dimensional sphere, supplying information about both on-axis and off-axis behavior.
Based on this work, the enclosure incorporates constrained-layer damping, revised bracing and updated bolt positioning. Magico says these changes create a quieter cabinet with less sound transmission from the enclosure than the outgoing A3.

Reworked aluminum cabinet and four finishes
The visual design has also been updated. Rounded vertical edges replace the sharper profile of the previous model, while the top plate transitions smoothly into the side panels. Magico has removed visible fasteners from the exterior surfaces for a cleaner appearance.
Sandblasted and anodized aluminum panels form the enclosure, which sits on a precision-machined base fitted with dedicated feet. Buyers will be able to choose from black, silver, red and blue finishes.
The A3 2027 measures 23.5 cm wide, 28 cm deep and 109.5 cm tall. Each speaker weighs 59.4 kg, reflecting the substantial aluminum construction and internal reinforcement.

New beryllium tweeter and honeycomb-cone drivers
All four drivers are new for the A3 2027. High frequencies are handled by a 28 mm pure-beryllium tweeter equipped with a new neodymium motor system and extended linear voice-coil travel.
A single 5-inch midrange driver uses Magico’s aluminum honeycomb cone construction with carbon-fiber skins. The same cone architecture is employed by the two 7-inch woofers responsible for bass reproduction. Both the midrange unit and woofers feature titanium voice coils and copper shorting rings.
Together, these components create a three-way, four-driver floorstanding design. Magico specifies a frequency range of 25 Hz to 50 kHz, sensitivity of 87 dB and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. The recommended amplifier output is between 50 and 300 watts.

Three-way crossover with Mundorf components
The redesigned crossover uses an acoustically optimized fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley alignment with 24 dB slopes. It also incorporates Magico’s Elliptical Symmetry Crossover techniques.
Mundorf components are used within the network, linking the new tweeter, midrange driver and paired woofers. The crossover redesign complements the extensive cabinet and driver changes rather than carrying over the network from the earlier A3.

First-quarter launch planned
Magico plans to begin deliveries of the A3 2027 during the first quarter of 2027. Pricing has not yet been announced.
The model retains the A3’s place as a floorstanding loudspeaker in Magico’s range while bringing in development tools and engineering methods previously associated with the company’s M9 flagship.
With a newly measured and reinforced enclosure, an entirely fresh driver complement and a revised three-way crossover, the A3 2027 represents a comprehensive generational update rather than a minor refresh of Magico’s long-running floorstander.
