Rega is continuing its 50th-anniversary momentum with the launch of two new high-end electronics designed and manufactured in England: the Mercury preamplifier and the Solis stereo power amplifier. The two components are developed as a technically matched pair and are aimed squarely at demanding audiophile systems.
Rega Solis: high power, fully discrete design
The Solis stereo power amplifier is built around a fully symmetrical, fully discrete circuit topology throughout the signal path. According to Rega, this approach is chosen to ensure maximum signal purity and stability under load. Output power is rated at 168 watts per channel into 8 ohms, increasing to 305 watts into 4 ohms, positioning the Solis as a power amplifier capable of driving a wide range of loudspeakers, including more demanding designs.

A key aspect of the Solis design is its internal layout. Rega has separated the sensitive low-voltage circuitry from the high-current output stage by placing them in distinct housing sections. This physical separation is intended to reduce interference and maintain a clean, low-noise signal path. Connectivity includes both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced inputs, a 12V trigger input, and comprehensive protection circuits guarding against short circuits, thermal overload, and DC offset.
Rega Mercury: analogue core with digital flexibility
Designed as the natural partner to the Solis, the Mercury preamplifier follows the same fully discrete, symmetrical circuit philosophy in its analogue signal path. Rega states that this design delivers a very low noise floor combined with a wide dynamic range, making it suitable for high-resolution systems.

In addition to its analogue preamplifier stage, the Mercury integrates a digital section built around a high-performance DAC. Digital connectivity includes S/PDIF inputs as well as a galvanically isolated, asynchronous USB input, allowing the preamp to function as a central control unit for both analogue and digital sources. A discrete headphone amplifier is also included.
The Mercury features a clean, minimalist front panel with an integrated IPS color display. System control is handled either via the front panel or Rega’s backlit “Orbit” remote control.

Lifetime warranty and availability
Both the Mercury preamplifier and Solis power amplifier are manufactured in England and come with Rega’s lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
Recommended retail price is €8,449 per unit, placing the Mercury and Solis firmly in the high-end segment of Rega’s electronics lineup.
