Esoteric has introduced limited Black Editions of its F-01 and F-02 integrated amplifiers, accompanied by a matching version of the optional PS-01F external power supply. The new models retain the circuitry and specifications of the existing silver-finished components while adding black-anodized enclosures.
A new finish for three established components
The Black Edition release covers three products within Esoteric’s amplifier portfolio: the F-01 integrated amplifier, the F-02 integrated amplifier and the PS-01F external power supply. All three receive a coordinated black-anodized exterior, allowing buyers to assemble a visually matched amplification system in the darker finish.
These are cosmetic variants rather than redesigned components. Esoteric has confirmed that the internal circuits and technical specifications remain unchanged from those of the standard silver versions. The Black Editions therefore provide an alternative appearance without altering the established design or operation of any of the three products.
The coordinated treatment is particularly relevant to the PS-01F, which is designed to work with either integrated amplifier. When installed alongside a black F-01 or F-02, the external supply maintains the same finish across both chassis.
F-01 retains Class A amplification
The F-01 is Esoteric’s Class A model in the pair. It delivers 30 watts per channel and combines preamplifier and power-amplifier sections in a single integrated chassis. Its core engineering carries over unchanged for the limited black version.
Both the F-01 and F-02 use technologies derived from Esoteric’s Grandioso X Edition components. These include balanced dual-mono preamplifier stages and high-capacity dual-mono power supplies. The architecture keeps the left and right channels arranged as separate signal and power sections within each integrated amplifier.
By leaving the electronics untouched, Esoteric is positioning the F-01 Black Edition as a finish option for customers who want the existing Class A model in a darker enclosure rather than as a replacement or performance update.
F-02 offers higher Class AB output
The F-02 follows the same Black Edition approach but uses Class AB amplification. It is rated to deliver 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms, giving it a different power profile from the 30-watt-per-channel Class A F-01.
Like its sibling, the F-02 incorporates balanced dual-mono preamplifier circuitry and dual-mono power-supply engineering derived from the Grandioso X Edition range. No changes have been made to these circuits for the black-anodized release.
The two amplifiers consequently continue to serve distinct positions in Esoteric’s integrated lineup. The F-01 maintains its Class A topology, while the F-02 retains its more powerful Class AB configuration. The new finish does not affect that distinction or create an additional technical tier between them.
PS-01F expands preamplifier power supply duties
Esoteric’s optional PS-01F is designed for use with both the F-01 and F-02. When connected, it takes over power-supply duties for the integrated amplifier’s preamplifier stages, separating that function from the amplifier’s internal supply.
The external unit is intended to isolate and expand the power supply serving the preamplifier section. As with the two amplifiers, the Black Edition PS-01F receives only an exterior update; its underlying design and specifications remain the same as the silver model.
Esoteric expects worldwide availability for the three limited Black Edition components to begin during October 2026. The company has not indicated any technical differences between regions.
With the F-01, F-02 and PS-01F Black Editions, Esoteric is extending its existing amplifier designs into a coordinated black-anodized system. Buyers can choose between the F-01’s Class A configuration and the higher-powered Class AB F-02, with the PS-01F available to support the preamplifier power supply in either model.
