WiiM has unveiled a new audiophile version of its streamer at a slightly higher price than the standard version. For hi-fi lovers, the ability to instantly access any music in lossless quality or even high definition without leaving the couch is extremely attractive. For younger music fans, a good network streamer can be the centerpiece of an affordable, high-quality system.
At High End Munich, WiiM introduced two new devices that will strengthen its position as a manufacturer of affordable and high-quality streamers.
WiiM Amp Pro features a built-in 60W per channel amplifier. This device combines all the benefits of streaming with an additional amplifier, making system setup easy. Connect passive speakers and an optional subwoofer, and your system is ready.
Improved WiiM Amp Pro Features:
- Wi-Fi 6E and BT 5.3 support for stable streaming
- TI TPA3255 Class D amplifier with 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms
- Premium 32-bit/384kHz DAC ES9038 Q2M SABER
- Elegant aluminum body with enhanced design
- Built-in room correction to optimize sound
- High sound quality with -105 dB THD+N and 120 dB SNR
- Control selection
- Users can control streaming through the WiiM Home App, native streaming app, or voice control. WiiM supports Siri, Alexa and Google voice assistant platforms. The WiiM Voice Remote provides an alternative to wireless control.
Compatibility and Inputs
The WiiM Amp Pro supports Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect. You can manage your content and devices through the WiiM Home App, which supports Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz, TIDAL, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, SoundCloud and more. “Roon ready” certification is in progress and will be announced soon.
In addition to streaming, WiiM Amp Pro offers stereo RCA, optical S/PDIF, HDMI ARC, and USB-A inputs for connecting additional sources such as a turntable, TV, or CD player. Please note that there is no built-in phono stage, so you will need a turntable with line output or an external phono stage. The device supports two-way Bluetooth, which allows you to connect your phone as a source or use Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
