The Italian company Gold Note has updated the CD-1000 CD player. First of all, the engineers modified the mechanism, thus improving the “overall stability of the system.” The updated player also features ventilation grilles borrowed from the PH-10 phono stage. According to the developers, this element will soon appear on all devices of the thousandth line. The player has a choice of either a PCM1796 or a PCM1792 DAC from Burr-Brown. The optical and coaxial inputs are controlled by a receiver from AKM, and the USB port is controlled by an Atmel processor.

Gold Note CD-1000 MKII has two power supplies with separate transformers for the right and left channels (total power – 30 W). An additional option is two models of external power supplies.
The player uses a CD transport JPL2580 – Blue Tiger from the Austrian company Sream Unlimited, made of aluminum alloy.

The Gold Note CD-1000 MKII features an updated version of the company’s patented Zero-Clock master clock, which effectively reduces jitter. Zero-Clock uses the Texas Instruments CDCE906 chip, which has proven itself in High-End audio. An additional option is two high-precision clock generators.

Gold Note CD-1000 has a built-in DAC of the highest quality, capable of processing digital streams with parameters up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. The presence of coaxial and optical digital inputs makes it possible to connect external sources. The player is also equipped with a high-speed USB 24/192 input on the XMOS XS1-L1 500MHz chip, which allows you to receive excellent quality music from your computer.

The player can additionally be equipped with a volume control. The regulator unit is borrowed from the Demidoff amplifier and is a dual mono regulator with electronic control. Another additional option is an XLR analog input block, which will make it possible to use the Gold Note CD-1000 MKII as a high-quality pre-amplifier.
