PSB Speakers introduced the new SubSeries BP8 subwoofer with nCore amplifier

Scheduled to be available starting in March for $1,499, the SubSeries BP8 is introduced as the first of a new generation of premium subwoofers featuring nCore amplifier technology and advanced vibration isolation.

The subwoofer features a “modestly rated” 500-watt (continuous) HybridDigital amplifier and a pair of opposing 8-inch drivers in a sealed enclosure finished in satin black or white with dimensions of 14 x 13 x 13 inches. The cabinet is designed with an emphasis on rigidity and acoustic neutrality and features IsoAcoustics feet to minimize low-frequency vibrations and resonances.

The speakers are connected in phase in a bipolar manner to eliminate vibration and create immersive bass regardless of installation location. Each speaker is supported by a carbon fiber fabric cone with high-density rubber piping and features a motor assembly with a 2.5-inch voice coil and a powerful 2.8-pound magnet.

The SubSeries BP8 has a frequency response of up to 25 Hz (±3 dB) and features a variable crossover (50-150 Hz), phase control, LFE/line level inputs with gold-plated RCA connectors and a 12-volt trigger.
