Vitus Audio has announced that the popular integrated amplifier Vitus RI-101 mk2 , equipped with a DAC/streamer module, has received Roon Ready certification . This means that the RI-101 mk2 has been thoroughly tested and optimized for full integration into the Roon ecosystem. Roon is an excellent platform for streaming music via Tidal or Qobuz and playing music from your music library stored on servers on your home network.
The Vitus Audio RI-101 mk2 integrated amplifier is already renowned for its exceptional build and sound quality, and this certification further strengthens its position as a top-tier network integrated amplifier. Being Roon Ready means the RI-101 mk2 is capable of serving as a Roon endpoint, but requires a separate Roon core to operate in the ecosystem.
Currently this update only applies to new devices leaving the Danish factory. Existing owners of the Vitus Audio RI-101 mk2 amplifier will be able to upgrade their network module to the new Roon Ready version soon. Details about this update, including price, are not yet known. But one thing can be said now – by the serial number it will be possible to determine the need to send the amplifier to Denmark to the factory. Older copies of the RI-101 mk2 require a hardware as well as a software update, while later versions can be upgraded purely software-in-place.
And for owners of the RI-101 mk2 amplifier without a streamer/DAC module, there is a reason to upgrade and install a new version of this module, certified Roon Ready. Let us remind you that in the UK the recommended retail price of the Vitus Audio RI-101 mk2 integrated amplifier without a streamer/DAC module is 17 thousand pounds sterling , the Roon Ready network module will add another 4,500 pounds sterling to the price .
