Swiss brand Goldmund has unveiled the Mimesis Reference , an all-analog two-block preamplifier . The output stages of the preamplifier operate in pure class A. According to the manufacturer, the new product is an example of minimalism and provides the lowest harmonic and intermodulation distortion, which allows you to achieve the highest sound quality and convey the very essence of music.
The power supply of the Goldmund Mimesis Reference preamplifier is designed in a separate housing and implements completely separate power circuits for the analog and service units of the amplifier. Separate transformers are used to supply power to each preamplifier section, and each component channel is powered separately, which significantly improves channel separation.
Although the main audio path remains purely analogue, the Goldmund Mimesis Reference controls are implemented digitally, providing a combination of analogue audio with modern control technologies.
The power supply circuits use Goldmund brand elements, including the use of oxygen-free gold. Heat removal is provided by a special radiator made on a CNC machine. The preamplifier features a new shielding design that also serves as a heat sink.
Each low-noise operational amplifier on the audio board is equipped with a special heatsink. The heatsink is precision machined from a single piece of aluminum to ensure optimal cooling performance by establishing direct mechanical contact between each op amp and the heatsink.
The Goldmund Mimesis Reference preamplifier cabinet uses 12mm thick aluminum panels. The top panel has a proprietary “no screws” design and is decorated with a milled company logo. The side panels take inspiration from the new range of active loudspeakers and are an example of the perfect combination of elegance and functionality.
