FX-Audio D502BT , as the name suggests, is the successor to the D502. The D502BT borrows its base and components, but this time it comes with a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, which is very useful for remotely playing music from a compatible device such as a smartphone.
Thus, the D502BT is a complete high-performance FDA (Full Digital Amplifier) amplifier at a reasonable price. It features a full complement of connections, quality components, a beautiful OLED screen and treble/bass controls, while delivering rich and accurate sound.
The D502BT, like its predecessor, offers a full range of inputs and outputs to suit the vast majority of needs and allows integration into most audio systems.
The front panel of the D502BT features a small, attractive OLED display that shows important information about the device, such as the current volume level or active input. On the left side of this screen, a row of LEDs indicates the sample rate of the file being played back.
Cirrus Logic’s CS8422 is a 24-bit asynchronous sample rate converter that also includes an S/PDIF interface. The CS8422 allows synchronization with the master clock, which ensures perfect synchronization and therefore ultra-low jitter.
The NE5532 is an efficient dual operational amplifier. It provides good noise performance, high gain, low distortion, high scanning speed and numerous protections. In the case of the D502BT, this chip is responsible for the subwoofer output.
The D502BT amplifier stage is entrusted to the high-performance TI TAS5342 chip. It can deliver 2x40W into 8 ohms or 2x60W into 4 ohms while maintaining low noise and distortion. This power will allow you to use the amplifier with many speaker systems, especially since the D502BT has a high efficiency of more than 90%.
In addition, a complete protection system is integrated into the chip, protecting the device from short circuit, undervoltage, overheating or loss of PWM signal.
To allow you to connect a USB device such as a smartphone, the D502BT offers a USB Micro input. Behind this connector lies the SA9023 USB interface chip, which supports sampling rates up to 24-bit 96 kHz. A chip that has already proven itself in many audio devices.
FX-Audio ships with the FDA with an IR remote control to control the amplifier and all its functions. No need to get up to turn on the device, adjust the volume, change the source, or adjust the bass and treble.
