Dethonray have released the Prelude DTR1+ player based on the AK4490EQ DAC chip.
Power plays a huge role in HIFI and portable audio systems. Most portable systems suffer from generic power designs that severely degrade signal processing. The DTR1 adapts a high-density dual-battery power system designed for High-Fidelity, providing separation of digital and analog power to eliminate loop noise from the source, similar to an improved DAP+amp system, but with minimal path and hard-soldered connections without compromise.
The ±8.4V power supply noticeably improves the efficiency of clean power delivered to the system, with noticeable qualities of transparency and background noise control without the need for excessive output damping.
DTR1+ chooses AK4490EQ for its reliability and special sound characteristics, the chipset supports up to 32Bit/768K and switchable digital filters, offering a different listening experience. Since its first delta-sigma DAC in 1989, AKM has been committed to reproducing original sound. This is the Velvet Sound philosophy, which aims to create an active space in sound reproduction similar to a live performance.
Signal Superhighway – DTR1 runs on a deeply tuned Linux OS audio subsystem using the OSS subsystem, which is 30% more efficient than the ALSA audio subsystem. The tuned and optimized “Nature” decoding engine effectively interacts with the Linux OS, decodes under optimal conditions and reduces transmission latency.
Patented ultra-lightweight graphical user interface system “Ocelot”, adapted GAI (Graphics Abstract Layer), GDI (Graphic Device Interface), IAL (Input Abstract Layer), SCM (System Control Module), audio file indexing system – promises minimal MMI, high speed navigation and indexing support for up to 160,000 songs!
