Shanling returns with the high-end M9 digital music player , taking advantage of the best technology to offer a unique user experience and a rich, immersive listening experience. Powerful, the DAP is based on the Android 10 system and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and 8GB of RAM. Providing a highly smooth experience, even when multi-tasking, the M9 is also very intuitive. There is also a large 256 GB storage built-in, allowing you to store numerous audio files, as well as download all your favorite applications.
The M9 also features a completely new design with an impressive 6-inch 2K LCD screen! The cutout also adds a small screen to display basic information such as volume, sample rate or time.
The Shanling player uses the same plug-in output module as its predecessor, the M8. It allows you to change the output format to adapt to all types of headphones and offers single-ended 3.5mm jacks, as well as balanced 2.5mm and 4.4mm jacks. The amplification circuit has been optimized to provide more power in both balanced and single-ended modes. The improvement goes hand in hand with a more important battery, offering an autonomy of not 18 hours of reading in one-way mode.
Shanling M9 also benefits from wireless connectivity, with built-in two-way Bluetooth 5.0 supporting aptX, aptX HD, LHDC and LDAC codecs, as well as WiFi with AirPlay and DLNA compatibility.
This model provides incredibly accurate and transparent audio reproduction, while supporting high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512. The M9 also supports MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) decoding for audio reproduction that is as close to the studio recording as possible.

Stunning screen
The new player will work with a 6-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution! Yes, this is a very controversial decision, many criticize it. Like, why does the player need such permission? This wastes the battery and increases the cost of the player as a whole. But progress does not stand still, I’m sure in 5 years they will say 4K is normal for a player, why 8K?
ESS
Initially, Shanling M9 was created for the AKM AK4499 DAC and there will be a limited number of it. The remaining versions will obviously be released on the ESS DAC.
