THIEAUDIO has released the Ghost dynamic open-back headphones.
THIEAUDIO Ghost is a new precedent in Thieaudio headphone audio technology. Our main goal with the Ghost project was to redefine the tonal balance of headphones and match it to uncompromising sound quality. To achieve this goal, we have completely redesigned the acoustic airflow of the dynamic drivers and their acoustic cavities to precisely regulate the pressure on the diaphragm membrane. After countless minute modifications to the acoustic tuning, we have achieved a tonal balance that perfectly matches the sound perceived by the human ear in each frequency range.
Of particular note is that the THIEAUDIO Ghost’s tuning has been calibrated to match the acoustics of the pinna of the human ear. This ensures every instrumental and vocal sound is bright and clear. Our careful production resulted in a slightly warm texture and lushness to the instrument body and fullness to the vocals, without allowing any signs of midrange bloat or muting. The bass is rich but not overpowering to maintain a natural tonal balance. For users wanting bass dominance, simply swapping for firmer ear pads will provide the bass they desire.
The Ghost uses an all-new, innovative 40mm Sapphire dynamic driver. The basis of the speaker is a new diaphragm consisting of cermet (metal-ceramic composite) laid on a thermoplastic polymer film stabilizer. Listening revealed the Sapphire dynamic driver to be extremely responsive and transient, with clarity and low-frequency power. To ensure sufficient magnetic flux through the diaphragm, the Ghost uses strong N52 magnets.
To achieve the most natural sound possible, we chose an open-back headphone design for the Thieaudio Ghost, which allows natural airflow through the external acoustic cavity of the speaker. This provides greater dynamics for the speaker as well as peripheral perception for the listener. The Ghost’s open design provides a live stage presence in every song and successfully simulates the full stage feel of the listening experience.
