Sendy Audio, a sub-brand of Sivga, has announced the open over-ear Sendy Audio Egret, a new magnetostatic model that combines a newly developed nano-diaphragm with the brand’s signature handcrafted wooden earcups. A high-quality detachable cable is included.

Sendy Audio Egret: open over-ear headphones

Sendy Audio ‘s new Egret features a custom-designed 98 x 84 mm planar magnetic driver. This is, according to the company, the largest and most advanced magnetostatic driver it has ever produced. The new composite diaphragm is less than 800 nanometers thick and is designed for fast transient response, precision, and consistency across the entire frequency range.

Sendy Audio applies the Electron Beam Evaporation Deposition (EBED) process to the driver’s diaphragm. This method deposits aluminum circuits directly onto the surface at an atomic level. The goal is to improve resolution, reduce distortion, and maintain an open, clear sound suitable for critical listening, both at home and in the recording studio.

Sendy Audio Egret: handmade wooden earcups

The Egret features earcups crafted from natural solid wood, each pair uniquely patterned thanks to the individual grain of the material. The open design creates a more spacious soundstage, while the overall construction reflects Sendy’s emphasis on combining modern engineering with traditional craftsmanship.

A contoured headband and soft leather ear cushions are designed to distribute weight evenly, allowing listeners to enjoy extended listening sessions without discomfort. The headphones weigh approximately 420 grams.

Sendy Audio Egret: Triple metal conductor cable design

Sendy Audio supplies the Egret with a detachable, balanced 1.8-meter cable made from a tri-metal blend. The cable consists of 30 strands of oxygen-free Furukawa copper, 10 strands of silver-plated copper, and 10 strands of enameled gold-plated copper. A graphene-reinforced PVC jacket provides added durability and flexibility. Both 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm single-ended adapters are included, allowing the Egret to connect to a wide range of devices.

The earcup plugs have a diameter of 2.5 millimeters, which fits in with Sendy’s existing portfolio of headphone cables.
