Renowned for their high-performance audio gear, Audio-Technica has officially released its latest generation of fully wireless earbuds, the ATH-CKS50TW2, across Europe and the United States. Building on the success of their predecessor, the new model introduces significant advancements in battery performance, intelligent functionality, and audio technology—all while maintaining the brand’s commitment to high-fidelity sound.

Extended Battery Life with Fast Charging

One of the standout upgrades in the ATH-CKS50TW2 is its dramatically improved battery capacity. The earbuds alone offer an impressive 25 hours of continuous playback on a full charge, with an additional 40 hours provided by the charging case, bringing the total usage time to a staggering 65 hours under standard operation. For users who rely heavily on Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), playback time adjusts to 15 hours from the earbuds and 25 hours from the case, for a total of 40 hours—still well above average in the true wireless segment.

Additionally, fast charging support allows users to power up on the go: a 5-minute charge provides up to 90 minutes of playback, minimizing downtime and maximizing portability.

Magnetic Power Switch: Smarter Battery Management

In a bid to further optimize power efficiency and user convenience, Audio-Technica introduces a new Magnetic Switch system. Each earbud is equipped with an internal magnetic mechanism that automatically powers the unit on or off when the earbuds are separated or snapped together. This eliminates the dependency on placing the buds back in the case for shutdown, offering both intuitive use and passive power conservation.

Advanced Hybrid ANC and Sound Transparency Features

The ATH-CKS50TW2 deploys a hybrid Active Noise Cancellation architecture, integrating both external (feedforward) and internal (feedback) microphones to detect and suppress ambient noise across a wide frequency range. This design enhances ANC precision while maintaining low signal distortion and improved isolation, particularly in dynamic sound environments like airplanes, trains, and urban settings.

For more adaptive listening, users can switch to Transparency Mode to amplify surrounding ambient sounds—ideal for situational awareness during commuting or conversations. Additionally, Conversation Mode emphasizes vocal frequencies, ensuring clear voice pickup without removing the earbuds.

Audio Hardware: 9mm Drivers and MEMS Microphones

At the core of the ATH-CKS50TW2’s sound signature are custom-designed 9mm dynamic drivers, engineered to deliver a robust and detailed audio profile. According to Audio-Technica, the new drivers provide extended low-end response without sacrificing clarity in mids and highs, catering especially to users who favor bass-heavy genres like EDM, hip-hop, and cinematic audio.

On the voice communication front, the earbuds are equipped with dual MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) beamforming microphones in each earbud. These mics intelligently isolate the user’s voice while reducing wind and environmental noise, significantly enhancing the clarity and intelligibility of voice calls, video conferencing, and voice assistant interactions.

LE Audio and Codec Support: Future-Ready Wireless Tech

Positioned as a future-forward offering, the ATH-CKS50TW2 supports Bluetooth LE Audio, a new generation of Bluetooth audio standard that promises lower latency, higher efficiency, and multi-stream audio capabilities. It also features the LC3 (Low Complexity Communication Codec), which is designed to replace SBC as the baseline codec in Bluetooth audio, offering better sound quality at lower bitrates and improved power consumption.

In addition to LE Audio, the earbuds offer multi-point connectivity, enabling seamless switching between two connected devices—ideal for users juggling between smartphones, tablets, or laptops without manual re-pairing.

Durability and Software Integration

With an IP55 rating, the ATH-CKS50TW2 is both splash- and dust-resistant, making them a suitable companion for light workouts and outdoor use without the fear of sweat or rain damage.

Audio-Technica also enhances user experience through the AT CONNECT app, available for both iOS and Android. The app provides granular control over EQ settings, ANC/transparency level adjustment, firmware updates, earbud tracking (find my earbuds), and additional customization options.

Pricing and Availability

The ATH-CKS50TW2 wireless earbuds are now available in the United States for $159 and across Europe for €149. They come in two sleek color variants: classic black and a distinctive earthy green, offering a balance of aesthetic variety and modern design.

With the launch of the ATH-CKS50TW2, Audio-Technica reaffirms its position in the premium wireless audio market. By combining industry-leading battery life, smart magnetic power control, high-end sound engineering, and next-gen Bluetooth technologies, this release not only caters to audiophiles but also to tech-savvy users who demand functionality, endurance, and future-ready features in their audio devices.

Whether you’re an everyday commuter, a work-from-home professional, or a music enthusiast, the ATH-CKS50TW2 sets a new standard for wireless earbud performance in 2025.
