The Parasound NewClassic 200 Pre two-channel preamp represents a new generation of low-cost, high-quality audio products from Parasound. At the heart of the Parasound 200 Pre is an all-analog signal path that includes analog bass control with treble and bass outputs. The Parasound 200 Pre will be an addition to the Parasound NewClassic line of available models.
Having decreased in size by half compared to its predecessor, the new preamplifier has significantly better functional equipment. The new product has the functionality of a DAC based on Burr-Brown chips – the same ones that were installed in Halo P5. It has a built-in DAC with 24/192 parameters, and on the front panel there is a screen indicating the input and signal level.
Analogue low-frequency output controls are provided for high- and low-level inputs. Also on board is a customizable high-level crossover and bypass for cinema systems. There are two line-level, USB, coaxial, optical and a 3.5mm input on the front panel with automatic gain of 12 dB for easy use with portable sources. Vinyl lovers will be pleased with the presence of a phono stage that supports moving magnet and moving coil heads.
For seamless integration of the model into home theater systems, there is a pass-through input for a signal from the processor, as well as a high-pass filter with adjustable cutoff frequency. Moreover, there is a separate button on the remote control for the subwoofer signal level.
