Technics SL-1200GR: One of the most advanced turntables

Technics SL-1200GR
Technics SL-1200GR

The Technics SL-1200 turntable returned with fanfare and in several versions. The spinner, the original version of which was loved by enthusiasts for its affordability, turned out to be much more expensive in the reborn version. And so a little later, Technics decided to release a budget version of the updated classic – the Technics SL-1200GR model, which is already on sale in some countries. In many ways it is similar to the SL-1200G: direct drive, high-precision rotation control, rigid and vibration-damping platter, statically balanced, sensitive S-shaped tonearm.

The Technics SL-1200GR vinyl player is one of the most advanced models in the company’s catalog and is intended for both professional DJs and music lovers. The player has a chic design and is of very high quality manufacturing, which allows us to rightfully classify it as a premium class model.

The Technics SL-1200GR features a cast aluminum and reinforced ABS chassis, and the combination of these materials gives the turntable excellent resistance to resonance and vibration. In addition, this model is installed on combined supports, which are springs in a silicone shell and have excellent damping characteristics. The supports are made adjustable in height so that the player can be positioned exactly horizontally.

Technics SL-1200GR is equipped with a direct drive drive from a powerful and silent motor with high starting torque. The motor design has been optimized to ensure smooth and stable rotation of the record without any extraneous vibrations. The engine is connected to a digital speed control system, which provides the ability to smoothly change it using a linear pitch control regulator. This feature makes the player convenient for music lovers to use, however, when set to the middle position, the control does not have any effect on the speed of rotation of the disc. The accuracy of the latter can be checked using the strobe light included in this model.

The Technics SL-1200GR player has a massive platter made of aluminum and damped with rubber. Rubber is also applied to the upper part of the disc, where it acts as a vibration-isolating mat for the record. This model is equipped with a 9-inch S-shaped tonearm on a cardan suspension. The tonearm is equipped with precision bearings and has exceptional tracking accuracy. Thanks to the standard headshell and a wide range of adjustments, the player can be equipped with cartridges of various brands. The player is equipped with gold-plated RCA output jacks and comes with all the necessary accessories.
