Pro-Ject Audio Systems offers a selection of three record pucks, each varying in weight and price. These pucks serve to stabilize vinyl records on the turntable platter, while their increased weight contributes to enhancing the flywheel effect of the platter.
Pro-Ject Record Puck S
The Pro-Ject Record Puck S has a weight of 315 grams, making it ideal for smaller turntables. This weight ensures that the main bearing of the turntable is not subjected to excessive load, which could lead to unwanted rumble.
Constructed from aluminum, the Pro-Ject Record Puck S features a diameter of 78 mm and a height of 27 mm. It is equipped with a felt glider on the bottom and is available in two finishes: polished aluminum in silver and a black lacquered option.
Pro-Ject Record Puck DS
The Pro-Ject Record Puck DS is constructed from stainless steel, featuring a diameter of 78 mm and a height of 27 mm. Weighing 915 grams, this record puck is nearly three times heavier than standard options, making it suitable for turntables that require a sturdy bearing. Additionally, the bottom of the Record Puck is equipped with a felt layer to safeguard the vinyl record. Buyers can select from two finishes: polished stainless steel, which has a silver appearance, or a black lacquered version.
Pro-Ject Record Puck RS
The Pro-Ject Record Puck RS presents a refined option, crafted from brass and boasting a substantial weight of 1,030 grams, with a diameter of 78 mm and a height of 27 mm.
To ensure the protection of the vinyl, it features a felt layer on its underside. Given its weight exceeding one kilogram, it is not suitable for lighter turntables. The Pro-Ject Record Puck RS is offered in either black lacquered brass or in a chromed brass finish with a high-gloss polish.
