Teufel Audio has introduced a new version of the Ultima 40 Active. The Ultima 40 Active 3 merges the elegant design of the latest Ultima series with the benefits of an active speaker, including an integrated AV receiver that offers a variety of connection options. Additionally, the system can be enhanced with a pair of Effekt 2 monitor speakers for the rear channels.
The Teufel Ultima 40 Active 3 is a minimalist system. Music signal can be supplied wirelessly or via a cable. Teufel has mounted an HMDI connection that supports ARC. The use of an AV receiver is not necessary.
The Ultima 40 Active 3 is a three-way speaker with two woofers, a midrange with a Kevlar cone with a phase plug and finally a large 25 mm tweeter with waveguide. The built-in amplifier can deliver 260 watts. Teufel has built in its own Dynamore Virtual Center technology for high speech intelligibility without a center speaker and the Ultima 40 Active 3 supports Dolby Digital.
Of course, music signal can be supplied wirelessly via Bluetooth. Apart from the HDMI ARC connection, Teufel has mounted an optical input, a USB-C input and an AUX input. Those who want more low tones can connect a sub-woofer (for example the T10 from Teufel) to the subwoofer output of the Ultima 40 Active 3.
The housing is made of FSC-certified wood. The appearance is businesslike and sleek, optionally white or black. Removable cover panels are included.
