The cabinets of the Fyne Audio F300 series speaker systems are made of MDF. They feel dense, hard, but a little loud, and at the same time the sound fades quickly when tapped. The finish is decent – a good textured film, well-made joints. The appearance itself does not leave any special impressions. It’s just acoustics – not faceless, but not conspicuous either. However, these are not “just boxes”, which are abundant on the market – there are some memorable details here, and they were added appropriately and modestly. As a distinctive feature, we can highlight the covers in which the tweeters are installed. In theory, these castings should resemble parts coated with piano varnish, but I don’t really understand what they are – either plastic or MDF overlays. Of course, it’s more likely the latter. In general, these details do not attract attention, but they do not repel either. One of the nice things is the magnetic protection holders. Both the midrange/bass speaker grills and the tweeter protective mesh are removable and magnetic.

In terms of the set of speakers and general design, all Fyne Audio F300 series models are very similar: bass reflex design, the same crossover frequency and tweeters. Yes, and the mid/bass speakers are identical, only in bookshelf models there is one speaker, and in floor-standing models there are two. The tweeter domes are made of polyester and neodymium magnets are used in the design. Like many, Fyne Audio’s production is divided: younger models are made in China, while older ones are made in their native Scotland. Apparently, the situation with speakers is similar. Chinese production, at least according to available data, is not third-party, but its own – when the company was just being created, it was possible to find a Chinese co-investor, who also invested in the organization of production. Whether this is a full cycle or an assembly with partially in-house production, for example, of housings, there is no information. However, all this does not play a decisive role.

The compact speaker system Fyne Audio F300 is a junior bookshelf two-way speaker system with a classic speaker arrangement. The line uses paper LF/MF speakers designed using the proprietary FyneFlute technology, due to which the speaker suspension has a special geometric structure, which, in turn, makes it possible to achieve very high fidelity and also get rid of “tinting” the sound. The tweeters are equipped with neodymium magnets, and their working surface is made of polyester and has a diameter of 25 mm. The acoustics are equipped with a durable, resonance-resistant MDF housing with a varnished panel around the tweeter and a removable magnetic grill. The cabinets are equipped with a round bass reflex port on the rear edge of the cabinet.
