McIntosh has introduced the DS200 Streaming DAC, a digital-to-analog converter that features streaming capabilities. The DS200 includes volume control and offers both RCA and XLR outputs, allowing users to forgo a preamplifier, unless they wish to connect analog sources as well.

The McIntosh DS200 Streaming DAC provides an exceptional option for individuals desiring seamless streaming combined with superior audio fidelity. It enables music signals to be transmitted either wirelessly or through a wired connection, facilitating direct streaming from smart devices without requiring a specialized control application or advanced technical knowledge.
The DS200 is equipped with support for various streaming services, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, and Google Cast. It features two Wi-Fi antennas and a Bluetooth antenna located on the rear, ensuring reliable wireless connectivity. Additionally, an RJ45 LAN port is available for a UTP cable connection. The device is compatible with Google Assistant, allowing for voice-activated control of audio settings. Furthermore, the DS200 functions as a Roon Ready endpoint.
The DS200 is equipped with a state-of-the-art Quad Balanced 8-channel, 32-bit DAC, which provides an impressive dynamic range and minimal distortion, ensuring exceptional sound quality. As a Roon Ready endpoint, it integrates effortlessly with the Roon music player, enhancing the listening experience with detailed metadata and certified streaming capabilities. It has also achieved Roon Tested certification, confirming its easy setup and user-friendly operation.
Beyond its streaming features, the DS200 includes eight digital inputs that facilitate high-resolution audio playback, accommodating DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz via USB, as well as 24-bit/192kHz through coaxial and optical connections. The HDMI (ARC) input elevates audio from TVs and movies, surpassing the performance of standard TV speakers and soundbars by converting Dolby and DTS multichannel formats into two-channel audio for enhanced sound reproduction.
The DS200 is equipped with both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs, facilitating effortless integration into any current audio system. It comes preconfigured in fixed output mode, but can be switched to variable output mode for direct connection to a power amplifier, enabling the DS200 to manage volume in a completely digital audio environment.
The DS200 Streaming DAC showcases McIntosh’s classic design, featuring a black glass front panel, rotary controls, an illuminated logo, and custom aluminum end caps. While this model does not include McIntosh’s signature VU meters, it offers additional functionalities such as a Data IN port, Power Control ports, and an RS232 Control port, ensuring smooth integration with other McIntosh components and sophisticated installations.
