Theorie und Anwendung (T+A) has revised its MP 3100 HV multiplayer and renamed the new version to MP 3100 HV Gen 3. The device features an (SA)CD transport on board and a high-quality DA converter that can also be used for other sources thanks to the digital inputs.
T+A MP 3100 HV Gen 3
The new MP 3100 HV Gen 3 features Audiophile Streaming Architecture (ASA) Gen 3. This gives users access to a variety of streaming services that allow direct music streaming from a tablet or smartphone to the T+A MP 3100 HV Gen 3, for example via Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect or Apple AirPlay2. In addition, the ASA G3 directly integrates many streaming services that offer music in high resolution. Finally, native streaming of DSD files is possible, without any PCM conversion.
In addition to the streaming architecture, engineers have significantly improved signal processing by using a new motherboard. The CD-Text signals from the SACD drive are now used to retrieve advanced information such as album art in the MusicNavigator G3 app, using the Gracenote music service. The True1-Bit DSD and Quadrupel PCM DA converters are installed as standard.
Upgrade from predecessor to new ASA Gen 3
The new multi-source player is expected to be available for delivery in the course of November 2024. There is good news for owners of the predecessor of the MP 3100 HV Gen 3. From January 2025, T+A will offer the option of having the predecessor MP 3100 HV upgraded to the ASA G3 at the factory. In addition to new hardware components for the streaming architecture, this upgrade includes device-specific control software. Upgrade appointments can be booked from November 2024 via authorized specialist dealers or directly via T+A Elektronikservice.
The MP 3100 HV G3 is now available for pre-order in the silver painted and titanium painted versions at a suggested retail price of €17,300 from authorized dealers.
