Czech Republic-based loudspeaker manufacturer Xavian has launched the compact two-way Unica, the latest and most accessible model in the Natura loudspeaker line. According to the manufacturer, the Unica is the entry-level model for the brand’s craftsmanship-based loudspeaker philosophy. The cabinet is handcrafted from solid oak.
The Xavian Unica cabinet is crafted from 23-millimeter-thick solid oak, shaped and finished by our own woodworkers at our factory in the Czech Republic. Each cabinet is made using traditional handcrafting techniques, including the flowing, curved shapes that characterize the Natura series. Xavian applies a modern varnish to enhance the natural grain and appearance of the oak.

The Unica is a member of the Natura product line and follows the series’ approach of organic cabinet shapes and natural use of materials. These shapes can only be achieved by hand, and Xavian positions this construction method as a continuation of the previous compact Perla and Joy models. The Unica is described as an evolution of these designs, based on over a decade of refinement.
Xavian Unica: drivers developed for the Unica
The speaker uses two AudioBarletta drivers specifically developed for this model. A 150-millimeter midrange/woofer with a polypropylene cone and a copper shorting ring handles the bass and midrange frequencies, while a 26-millimeter impregnated soft-dome tweeter covers the high frequencies across a wide bandwidth.

Xavian Unica: crossover and other internal components
Inside the Xavian Unica, a bass reflex system is supported by a crossover constructed from a small selection of Jantzen components, comprising five elements in total. The design prioritises simplicity and signal integrity, with individually mounted gold-plated terminals completing the connection layout.
The Unica has a specified impedance of eight ohms and a sensitivity of 87 dB (2.83 volts/1 meter). Its frequency response is from 52 Hz to 20 kHz (–3 dB on-axis), and crossover occurs at 2,490 Hz.
The cabinet construction, including its thickness and the choice of solid wood, is designed for structural rigidity and acoustic stability. The handcrafted aesthetic aligns with Xavian’s emphasis on natural materials and craftsmanship.

The Xavian Unica is available for 990 euros per pair.
