Polk Audio has updated its Signature E line of home theater speakers. The new products are certified for audio playback in Hi-Res formats. The Signature E series is built on the basis of the regular Signature, but has technologies borrowed from the brand’s top lines. The series includes three floor-standing models, three bookshelf models and two models of central channel acoustics. To improve bass performance, the design uses Polk’s proprietary Power Port, increasing bass response by 3 dB and expanding the low end of the bass due to a larger area.
The Signature E Series speakers were designed with aesthetics in mind, and the new speakers feature beautiful contours and gold accents to enhance their bold, stylish appearance. Available in Black or Winter White finishes, all speakers in the series will easily match the style of your home. Thanks to patented Dynamic Balance technology, Polk Audio engineers were able to use the most appropriate, carefully selected materials and the most efficient driver geometries, analyzing the entire electroacoustic and mechanical system of each driver. By doing so, they eliminated many of the problems and allowed all speakers to produce the best and most accurate sound that will please even the most discerning audiophiles.
Polk Audio Signature S20e are bookshelf speakers that develop significant sound pressure and can become a full-fledged replacement for floor-standing models in small rooms. The speakers are made in damped MDF cabinets with a very high-quality external finish in black or white. The edges of the speaker housing are rounded, which gives them additional attractiveness. The protective mesh with magnetic fixation not only has high acoustic transparency and does not introduce additional distortion into the sound of the speakers. These speakers are perfect for both stereo systems and front channels in home theaters.
The Polk Audio Signature S20e speakers have a fairly large woofer with a diameter of 6.5 inches. Its cone is made of mica-reinforced polypropylene, resulting in a light and rigid structure that is resistant to resonances. The diffuser is mounted on an elastic, reliable suspension made of butyl rubber, which ensures its linear movement with a large amplitude. Such a suspension does not lose its properties for the longest time, and also suppresses membrane resonances well. The woofer magnet is made of ceramic and has a powerful field to ensure high sensitivity.
The tweeter in the Polk Audio Signature S20e is equipped with a terylene dome and is placed in a round sound guide. This speaker operates over a wide frequency range, giving the Polk Audio Signature S20e an airy, detailed sound. The emitters are connected to an isolation filter made of selected components and with minimal phase distortion.
Another proprietary design solution in the Polk Audio Signature S20e is the Power Port bass reflex located on the rear panel. Thanks to special air flow dividers, this bass reflex does not create audible acoustic noise. In addition, it allows you to install the Polk Audio S20 E close to the wall of the room without fear of distortion in the midbass frequency response. For connection to an amplifier, the speaker system has a pair of gold-plated screw terminals.
