The Soundbar series models from Monitor Audio provide the perfect sound frame for your home theater screen. The developers of these acoustic systems set themselves the goal of creating a wide range of speakers that can make a worthy pair with screens of different diagonals. Stylish and powerful passive soundbars are ideal for those movie and music lovers who attach great importance not only to the sound quality of the audio-video system, but also to its appearance. The Soundbar series uses a number of innovative technical solutions that convincingly illustrate the traditional quality of Monitor Audio and the attention of the company’s engineers to the smallest design details. A wide range of placement options will allow you to easily fit the soundbar into any interior. The compact cases and speakers of all three models combine an effective low-profile design and exceptional dynamics that will fill your home theater with full-bodied natural sound.

The English company Monitor Audio continues to expand its range of soundbars. The new product will be the largest, or rather the longest soundbar, designed to work in tandem with 70-inch TVs.

The new Monitor Audio SB-4 soundbar is completely passive and requires an external amplifier. The design and elegant profile of the Monitor Audio SB-4 are completely identical to the similar characteristics of shorter models (SB-2 and SB-3). The soundbar is very easy to install. Recessed acoustic terminals allow you to make an inconspicuous connection of cables and move the Monitor Audio SB-4 close to the wall. If desired, the Monitor Audio SB-4 can be installed on a cabinet or hung on the wall using proprietary brackets or compatible third-party devices. For the most complete sound, the manufacturer recommends using the Monitor Audio SB-4 together with a subwoofer, but even in the case of its separate use, the new soundbar is capable of greatly improving the sound of TV shows and films broadcast on television.

The Monitor Audio SB-4 case is made of MDF with a reinforced structure from the inside, giving the new product additional rigidity. With the exception of the aluminum side trims, the SB-4’s enclosure is covered in acoustically transparent fabric. The crossover uses only high-quality components, including polypropylene capacitors. Additional strength is provided by the proprietary through-the-speaker mounts – the speaker is attached to the rear wall of the enclosure, and the speaker basket is fixed to the front. A similar approach is demonstrated by JL Audio in its E-Series subwoofers.

The soundbar features three separate driver arrays for the left, center, and right channels. The SB-4 features dual woofers and an ABR in the center section for high acoustic output and power handling. All drivers are the proprietary C-CAM design found in Monitor Audio’s flagship speakers.

Dual 4-inch C-CAM drivers (single drivers in the SB-2) and a 25mm C-CAM tweeter in each section – left, center, and right – ensure the perfect combination of sensitivity and balance across all three front audio channels. Power is further enhanced by the addition of oval-shaped ABRs to enhance bass, increase output power, and eliminate turbulent noise. All three sections are separated and operate as purely discrete channels, with the crossover working in a similar manner. The soundbar delivers loud, clear, and distortion-free audio. The concave C-CAM woofer diffusers are extremely rigid. They are attached to the front panel with a special connection unit that improves mechanical decoupling and significantly reduces distortion.

The new C-CAM tweeter boasts the highest level of performance for its compact size. It radiates sound vibrations into the rear acoustic chamber through special holes around the magnet system, reducing resonances and improving damping. The horn channel, which goes out to the front panel, ensures excellent integration with the woofers and constant axial characteristics for uniform coverage of the room. The enclosures are made of high-density MDF and are equipped with internal baffles for improved rigidity. Fastening the speakers with a through bolt improves strength, increasing the rigidity of the enclosure to level out resonances. A special fabric finish on the enclosures guarantees perfect acoustic transparency and perfectly matches the side panels made of brushed aluminum.

Low-profile clamp-on speaker terminals provide easy and secure connections, allowing you to mount the soundbar flush against a wall. The Soundbar series is compatible with SANUS™ TV mounts, offering a variety of mounting options on your TV or wall. Wall mounting is also possible with the Monitor Audio bracket, which provides easy cable access and includes a special mounting template.

Incorporating the soundbar into your home theater system will take the sound quality of your movies and music videos to a much higher level. However, you can increase the power of your system and achieve an even more impressive sound by using the soundbar with an external subwoofer.
