The Marantz Horizon and Grand Horizon embody contemporary luxury, elevating Marantz’s distinctive design ethos to unprecedented levels. The brand’s renowned circular porthole motif has been creatively transformed, serving as the focal point in the innovative circular architecture of both speakers. Thoughtfully arranged lighting and high-quality materials accentuate the design’s symmetry, providing a multi-sensory experience that engages sight, sound, and touch.
The Horizon and Grand Horizon evoke a sense of familiarity with products from the French brand Devialet. While Marantz is not the pioneer of spherical or round speaker designs, this does not detract from their appeal. Both models are crafted from eco-friendly materials. Each speaker is enveloped in Marantz Radiance 360º Seamless Ecofiber, a fabric sourced from recycled ocean plastics, developed in partnership with the fashion industry. The inclusion of gold lurex gives the fabric a luxurious aesthetic and tactile quality, enhancing the overall warmth of both the design and the audio experience.
The speakers are available in three colours: the dark Midnight Sky, the bright Moon Ray and the warm Marantz Champagne. Each model rests on a marble base that perfectly matches the speaker colours. For those who want to position the speakers differently, Marantz offers a wooden floor stand for the Horizon and wall brackets for both models. Even unpacking is a special experience with an elegant protective cover that encloses the speakers.
Marantz Horizon and Grand Horizon: Powerful Wireless Speakers
The Horizon and Grand Horizon are powerful wireless solutions for room-filling, wide-range sound. Each model features a unique configuration of drivers for the high and midrange. The spacious listening experience is supported by a single center subwoofer.
Powerful sound is delivered by the patented Marantz Rise amplifier technology. Based on highly responsive and thermally efficient GaN FET technology, it boasts an impressive 310 watts or 370 watts of power output (for Horizon and Grand Horizon respectively according to the FTC standard). This powerful core drives a number of high-performance Marantz Gravity drivers, each with high-power neodymium magnets for the ultimate combination of accuracy, responsiveness, and low distortion.
At the heart of the Horizon is a 165mm subwoofer, complemented by two 25mm silk-dome tweeters and three 50mm full-range drivers. Grand Horizon steps things up a notch with a 200mm subwoofer, three 25mm tweeters and four 76mm midrange drivers.
The built-in Marantz Mirage DSP allows the sonic characteristics of these advanced speakers to be tailored to the listener’s mood and musical taste. This digital “conductor of the speaker” can be controlled via the HEOS app to adjust the clarity, spaciousness and warmth of the sound to each user’s preference. It is even possible to select a Sound Master Mode, so listeners can experience the Horizon or Grand Horizon exactly as Marantz Sound Master Yoshinori Ogata intended them to sound.
The Horizon and Grand Horizon are designed to engage your senses. When you approach either speaker, built-in proximity sensors automatically activate the speaker. Marantz AuraControl, using 100 concealed LEDs and light sensors, creates a seamless interaction between sound and light. By simply touching the ring around the subwoofer, you can adjust the volume, which is subtly reflected.
Marantz Horizon and Grand Horizon: Heos streaming platform
The Horizon and Grand Horizon are modern wireless speakers designed for the discerning consumer. They leverage the Marantz HEOS platform, which provides access to popular streaming services including Amazon Music, Deezer, Spotify and Tidal. Apple AirPlay2 and Bluetooth are also built-in for easy streaming from mobile devices. Both models also feature physical connections, including analogue, optical, HDMI and USB-C, and support Dolby Atmos via HDMI.
Thanks to the HEOS ecosystem, Horizon and Grand Horizon can also be paired with other HEOS devices for a multi-room setup. Users can even combine multiple Horizon or Grand Horizon speakers for the ultimate sound experience in larger spaces.
