KEF Q Concerto Meta

The KEF Q Concerto Meta bookshelf speakers represent a superb option for compact stereo systems situated in medium-sized spaces. This model features a three-way design that guarantees a consistent frequency response and authentic reproduction of vocals and acoustic instruments. With its vibrant and dynamic audio performance, the KEF Q Concerto Meta can also serve effectively as a front stereo pair in a home theater setup, particularly when complemented by a subwoofer.

The acoustic system is equipped with a combined Uni-Q emitter of the 12th generation. Several important design changes were made to it, aimed at further improving the sound quality. A tweeter with a diameter of 19 mm with an aluminum dome is loaded on a Tangerine sound guide, aligning its directivity pattern and eliminating phase distortions. A sound-absorbing MAT element is installed on the back of the high-frequency speaker – this is one of the fundamental updates made in the new generation Uni-Q emitters. The MAT element is small in thickness to maintain the compact design of the driver, and at the same time almost completely dissipates sound waves from the back of the tweeter dome. This solution gave the speaker a transparent and detailed sound at high frequencies.

The midrange speaker diffuser in the Uni-Q has longitudinal stiffening ribs to eliminate resonances. The driver frame is sloping for a more uniform distribution of sound waves without distortion, which can occur in the event of their reflection from the front panel. In addition, such a frame visually makes the Uni-Q emitter the same diameter as the 6.5-inch woofer located below.

The latter is equipped with a hybrid aluminum diffuser on a wide elastic suspension, providing its linear movement with a large amplitude. The woofer is loaded on a phase inverter, the output of which is located on the rear panel. The KEF Q Concerto Meta comes with a plug for the phase inverter port. A pair of input terminals is provided for connection to the amplifier.
