The Reference GS Edition floor-standing 3-way systems are the largest and most ambitious in the German brand’s product range. This fulfills the long-time dream of the brand’s founder, Günter Seitz, whose name is hidden under the abbreviation GS.
The weight of one speaker is 155 kg, height is 163 cm. Acoustic design is a bass reflex with a port leading down through the base. Each speaker has 6 drivers: four bass drivers with a diameter of 21.9 cm, one midrange driver with a diameter of 17.4 cm.
Both of them have membranes made of proprietary material Black Ceramic Tungsten (black ceramic tungsten) – it partially contains the molecular structure of aluminum converted to ceramic with the addition of metal particles. According to the developers, this made it possible to obtain an ideal ratio of rigidity and mass.
The tweeter is a first for Canton with a DCC (Diamant Ceramic Carbon) dome. Its output can be adjusted using jumpers on the rear panel. Frequency range 18 Hz – 40 kHz, sensitivity 89 dB. Dimensions 163 x 46 x 72 cm.
The speakers are sold individually for €25,000. Warranty – for 10 years. Grills with magnetic fastening are included.
