At first glance, the Chrono series has not undergone any changes and remains faithful to its original design. However, a closer look reveals a new design style – diamond-cut aluminum rings, an improved internal cabinet structure (ICB) with a bass reflex hole at the bottom, a cone splitter, and a one-piece jack design.
The aluminum chassis impresses with its elegance. It is equipped with exclusive diamond-cut aluminum rings. These rings help improve the mechanical reliability of the loudspeaker system, which is a particular advantage at high volumes. All this speaks to the high quality of Chrono series products.
The field-proven aluminum-manganese tweeter system transmits music signals up to 40,000 Hz. The transmission front panel, made of aluminum, acts as a waveguide and provides the dispersion characteristics of the system.
The durable and acoustically neutral fabric covering hides the interior from view. It is exactly the same size as the reflective board. Rear-Fix mounting of the casing on the rear surface of the loudspeaker is a practical find of this series.
Features of the Canton Chrono series
The use of new screwless rings gives the systems a more precise look and modern style.
Double cone membranes used in the woofers of the Chrono 90 DC and Chrono 80 DC systems increase the strength of the diaphragms, and the seamless surfaces of the membranes add additional visual emphasis.
High-quality titanium diaphragms provide natural and extremely accurate sound. Such membranes are used in more expensive premium series.
The speaker cabinets have now become deeper, their internal volume has increased and, as a result, more energetic sound.
The new base of the speaker system in combination with the rear bass reflex completely changes the usual understanding of the Chrono series.
A new housing coating with high-quality structured foil film was used. The front panel is covered with natural varnish, and the protective nets are now conveniently attached with magnets.
