YG Acoustics has announced the Vesper 3, a passive three-way floorstanding speaker joining the American manufacturer’s Reference product line. Inspired by the Carmel 3, the new model is designed to retain a relatively compact and elegant form while extending bass response and dynamic capability.
A new Reference-series floorstander
The Vesper 3 is an entirely new design created through a three-year development program involving extensive research and simulation. Its starting point was the Carmel 3, a speaker valued for placing YG Acoustics’ reference-level engineering in a format intended to work across a broad range of listening rooms.
With the Vesper 3, YG Acoustics has moved to a three-way architecture. The company says the additional driver and associated engineering give the speaker greater dynamic range, deeper bass and more authority while preserving the balance, precision and visual restraint associated with the Carmel 3.
The cabinet measures 107 cm high, 27 cm wide and 40 cm deep. Each speaker weighs 71 kg, making this a substantial design despite its comparatively narrow footprint. Standard finishes are black and white, while other colors can be discussed by special request.
Proprietary aluminum-cone drivers
The driver array begins with YG Acoustics’ proprietary 26 mm hybrid Lattice tweeter. It is partnered with an 18.5 cm midrange driver and a 22 cm woofer. Both of the larger drivers use the manufacturer’s own aluminum cones and advanced motor systems.
This combination separates high, middle and low frequencies across dedicated drive units. The crossover points are specified at 92 Hz and 1.71 kHz, while YG Acoustics says the crossover network is assembled using carefully selected premium components.
The manufacturer positions the Vesper 3 as offering the precision and elegance of the Carmel 3 with increased scale. YG Acoustics also claims that fine musical information remains intact during demanding peaks, with the presentation taking on the weight and dynamics expected from a physically larger loudspeaker. These are manufacturer statements rather than independent listening findings.
Frequency range and amplifier considerations
YG Acoustics specifies a frequency range of 30 Hz to 40 kHz. The 30 Hz lower limit reflects the Vesper 3’s emphasis on deeper bass extension, while the upper figure reaches beyond the conventional audible range.
Rated sensitivity is 88 dB. No impedance figure, recommended amplifier power or connection details were included in the announcement, so prospective owners will need to await complete technical documentation when assessing amplifier matching.
As a passive loudspeaker, the Vesper 3 requires an external amplifier and does not incorporate onboard amplification or streaming hardware. Its focus is instead on cabinet construction, proprietary drive units and the crossover system within a conventional high-end stereo setup.
