Naim’s CI-Uniti 102 Steps Out of the Rack With a New Accessory Kit

Naim Audio has introduced an optional kit that adapts its CI-Uniti 102 streaming amplifier for freestanding use, adding four fitted feet and an IR remote control.

Four fitted feet and an IR remote transform Naim’s rack-focused streaming amplifier into a more practical option for shelves and living-room furniture.

Naim Audio is giving its CI-Uniti 102 streaming amplifier a route out of the equipment rack. A new optional accessory kit adds four dedicated feet and an infrared remote control, allowing the compact custom-install model to sit more naturally on a shelf or piece of furniture.

From custom installation to the living room

The CI-Uniti 102 was originally developed for installation inside a 19-inch equipment rack, where sources, amplification and network hardware can be kept out of sight as part of an integrated audio system. The accessory kit does not change the amplifier itself, but it broadens the ways in which the existing model can be installed and operated.

Four custom-made feet provide a stable base when the CI-Uniti 102 is positioned outside a rack. This makes it better suited to visible placement on living-room furniture, a media unit or a suitable shelf, rather than requiring dedicated rack mounting.

The change is especially relevant for listeners who want the CI-Uniti 102’s custom-install functionality without building a concealed technical space. It also gives installers more flexibility when a conventional rack is unavailable or unnecessary.

Compact streaming amplification

The CI-Uniti 102 measures 30 x 30 x 4.45 cm and weighs 4.5 kg. Its low-profile enclosure remains compact enough for installations where space is limited, while the new feet provide the support needed for freestanding placement.

Naim rates the amplifier at 150W per channel into 8 ohms and 260W into 4 ohms. The CI-Uniti 102 can be used with compatible passive loudspeakers, including models from Naim’s partner brand Focal, or incorporated into a wider multiroom system.

Network access is available through both wired and wireless connections. The unit also includes analog and digital inputs, allowing external sources to be integrated alongside its network streaming functions.

An IR remote for everyday controls

The other major addition in the accessory kit is an infrared remote. It provides direct access to essential functions including volume adjustment, standby, mute and presets, reducing the need to rely exclusively on an app for routine operation.

Control and configuration are also available through the Focal & Naim app. Built-in adjustment options include a four-band equalizer, giving users a way to tailor the system to their room or preferences.

Filter settings are provided for installations such as 2.1-channel systems. Together, the app, equalization tools and physical remote give the rack-derived amplifier a more conventional home hi-fi control experience.

Pricing and availability remain unconfirmed

Naim has positioned the optional kit as an extension for the existing CI-Uniti 102 rather than as a separate version of the streaming amplifier. Owners and installers receive the four feet and IR remote needed to adapt the unit for freestanding use.

The accessory kit includes not only four custom-made feet but also a remote control for quick and intuitive access to essential functions such as volume, standby, mute, and presets.

The accessory kit is a straightforward addition, but it gives the Naim CI-Uniti 102 considerably more placement flexibility. By combining freestanding feet with direct remote control, Naim is making its rack-oriented streaming amplifier easier to accommodate in a conventional home audio system.
