Eversolo AMP-F8 Brings 500-Watt Mono Capability to a Compact Power Amplifier

Eversolo AMP-F8 Class AB power amplifier with dual analog VU meters

The Eversolo AMP-F8 combines a dual-channel Class AB design with a linear power supply, selectable gain and bridged mono output rated at 500 watts into eight ohms.

Eversolo has unveiled the AMP-F8, a compact two-channel Class AB power amplifier designed to operate in either stereo or bridged mono configurations. Its specifications include up to 180 watts per channel into eight ohms, while mono operation raises the rated output to 500 watts into eight ohms.

Stereo power with a bridged mono option

In its standard stereo configuration, the AMP-F8 is rated to deliver 180 watts RMS per channel into eight ohms and 280 watts RMS per channel into four ohms. Bridging its two amplifier channels creates a single-channel power amplifier rated at 500 watts RMS into an eight-ohm load.

The mono mode gives system builders the option of using two AMP-F8 units as a higher-powered pair of monoblocks. Eversolo positions this configuration for demanding loudspeakers and larger floorstanding designs, while the conventional stereo mode allows one chassis to power a complete two-channel system.

The AMP-F8 follows the larger AMP-F10 in Eversolo’s power-amplifier range, but offers lower output power and a relatively compact footprint. Its chassis measures 265 x 388 x 119 millimeters and weighs 15.9 kilograms.

Linear supply and Class AB output stage

At the center of the amplifier is a custom 800-watt toroidal transformer used as the foundation of its linear power supply. It is supported by 24 audio-grade filter capacitors, with separate supply paths for the left and right channels.

Eversolo has also incorporated a DC-blocking circuit intended to reduce the effects of mains DC offset on the transformer. The company says this arrangement helps limit mechanical vibration and associated noise.

Each Class AB output stage employs three matched pairs of high-power MOSFETs per channel. The low-voltage circuitry uses a symmetrical dual-differential architecture with negative feedback, designed to suppress common-mode noise and maintain linearity. Eversolo specifies total harmonic distortion plus noise at 0.003 percent at 1 kHz, alongside an A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio of at least 115 dB.

The stated frequency response extends from 10 Hz to 30 kHz within plus or minus 0.5 dB, measured at one watt into eight ohms. Other published figures include a damping factor greater than 400 into eight ohms at 1 kHz and channel separation exceeding 95 dB at full output.

Balanced and unbalanced system connections

The rear panel provides one balanced XLR input and one unbalanced RCA input, both specified with an input impedance of 10 kilohms. Selectable gain settings allow the amplifier to be matched to different preamplifiers and source components.

At 23 dB of gain, input sensitivity is listed as 5.2 volts through XLR and 2.65 volts through RCA. Selecting 29 dB changes those figures to 2.6 volts for XLR and 1.3 volts for RCA. This flexibility should make the AMP-F8 suitable for sources with a range of output levels without requiring changes elsewhere in the system.

Aluminum construction and passive cooling

Two analog VU meters occupy the front panel, giving the AMP-F8 a visual identity closely associated with traditional power-amplifier design. The enclosure is machined from a single piece of aluminum and finished with a sandblasted, anodized coating.

According to Eversolo, the substantial metal construction assists with resonance control, heat dissipation and electromagnetic shielding. Cooling is handled through natural convection, allowing the amplifier to operate without a fan.

The AMP-F8 was previously displayed at the High End audio show in Vienna and has now been formally unveiled. No USD price or detailed market availability information has been announced in the supplied material.

With stereo and bridged mono operation, selectable gain, balanced inputs and a substantial linear power supply, the AMP-F8 expands Eversolo’s amplifier lineup with a flexible Class AB design in a compact aluminum chassis.
