The Pioneer UDP-LX500 player design features a three-piece Ultra Rigid Construction and Double-Layered Chassis internal layout, 6-layer main board, pre-installed SDR/HDR mode and HDR10/Dolby Vision support for high-quality images, as well as high-quality DAC and Zero Signal Terminal for a complete sound. The power, drive/digital processing and analog audio units are separated into three separate sections to eliminate electrical and magnetic interference between units. Thermal radiation holes are eliminated to realize a flat shape with optimal electrical layout and minimal mechanical noise from the rotating system. The result is significantly lower noise levels and an even more rigid and stable chassis structure.

The top-class universal player Pioneer UDP-LX500 plays all disc formats existing today: CD, DVD, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, SACD and Ultra HD Blu-ray. The device supports the latest technologies, including Dolby Vision and HDR10. The floating drive is enclosed in an anti-vibration housing with a cover stamped with a proprietary honeycomb structure, all functional units are isolated from each other. Audio streaming via HDMI uses patented PQLS (Pioneer Quartz Lock System) technology to minimize jitter when working with compatible Pioneer AV receivers. Two HDMI outputs allow you to transmit video and audio streams separately.

The Pioneer UDP-LX500 features a 1.6mm thick chassis base that is reinforced with a 3mm steel plate with a rigid stand. This dual-layer body structure provides a low center of gravity and overall rigidity that prevents external vibration from being transferred to the internal chassis and ensures superior disc readability .Ultra HD Blu-ray is the latest disc format with a resolution of up to 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, four times the resolution of Full HD 1080p.

The main PCB adopts 6-layer IVH to completely eliminate digital noise, it optimizes digital signal wiring and minimizes GND impedance, and greatly improves the S/N ratio of audio/video signal processing, and 18Gbps transmission over the latest HDMI standard becomes even more accurate. In addition to the Reference video option for original master quality playback, you can select LCD TV, OLED TV, or Projector for the video quality best suited to the display you are using. There are SDR/HDR presets for each video option, which automatically switches between SDR and HDR preset according to the output signal.

By pressing and holding the DISPLAY button on the remote control, you can check mastering information such as MaxFALL (maximum average light level) and MaxCLL (maximum light level) available for some HDR content, as well as HDMI output information. Featuring high-precision quartz controller on a compatible Pioneer PQLS (Precision Quartz Lock System) AV receiver eliminates distortion caused by timing errors. It controls the amount of audio signals from the AV receiver to the Pioneer UDP-LX500 player, ensuring the best digital-to-analog conversion. Pioneer UDP-LX500 supports PQLS 2ch Audio, Multi-Surround and Bit-Stream. Zero Signal Terminal is an original Pioneer feature designed to adjust audio and video quality without transmitting a signal. When connecting a Zero Signal terminal to the audio/video input terminal of an AV receiver, the reference level (GND) of audio/video signals is equalized between the two devices, and the potential difference is suppressed, allowing accurate and high-quality signal transmission.
