Audioblock, known as Block, has launched the CVR-200 AV, a device specifically engineered for use with passive speakers to facilitate music playback. It also enhances movie experiences with multichannel audio, featuring an integrated BluRay drive and seven amplifier channels. The device boasts a wide range of both analog and digital inputs.

Audioblock has meticulously incorporated a multitude of features into the CVR-200 AV. This device serves as both a BluRay player and an AV receiver, capable of streaming content from the internet as well. It houses seven amplifier channels, each capable of delivering 100 watts at four ohms. The AV receiver is compatible with audio signals encoded in Dolby Digital and DTS formats. Additionally, the integrated BluRay drive supports playback of DVDs and CDs, consistent with standard BluRay functionality. The manufacturer claims a frequency response range of 10 Hz to 26 kHz.

The manufacturer has also built in all modern streaming functions. Connection to a network can only be made wirelessly. The user has access to UPnP, Spotify, Spotify Connect and Deezer, among other things. Bluetooth connectivity works both ways, i.e. music can be sent from a smartphone or tablet to the CVR-200 AV and/or from the CVR-200 AV to headphones.

Radio enthusiasts have access to FM, DAB+ and internet radio. Ten memory locations are available for each type of reception.

The Block CVR-200 AV has three HDMI inputs to connect other source devices such as a television or game console. The system also has an HDMI output, which is available as ARC (Audio Return Channel) and supports HDMI CEC for central control via remote control.

There are three optical and one coaxial S/PDIF interfaces for integrating digital sources, and for analog sources the Block CVR-200 AV has two stereo RCA inputs and a turntable input for MM cartridges. There is also a USB-A connection. A line input is also available on the front. Preamp output? Check. Subwoofer output? Check. Record output? Check. Headphone output? Check.

Operation is possible with buttons on the front, with the supplied remote control and with an app. Of course there is also information processed in the front.

The dimensions of the Block CVR-200 AV are 430 x 121.5 x 375 millimeters and it weighs 11 kilograms.

The Block CVR-200 AV is available in diamond silver or sapphire black. The recommended retail price is just under $2,000.
