PS Audio is expanding the popular Stellar series of electronic components by introducing the StellarGold Preamplifier . As with all Stellar Series components, the StellarGold Preamplifier’s design is enlivened by a real gold horizontal line across the front panel.
The PS Audio StellarGold Preamplifier is a flexible audio control center with a variety of balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs that can be controlled either through a menu system on the front panel information display or using the included remote control. Designed by renowned engineer Darren Myers, the preamplifier features fully balanced circuit design and uses pure Class A analog amplification. The new product uses JFET and BJT transistors with high slew rate and wide bandwidth. The preamplifier channels are subject to minimal feedback. Particular attention was paid to the design of the preamplifier power supply with a high-power power transformer.
The StellarGold Preamplifier features a stepped volume control with a relay block and resistive matrix, providing a wide frequency range from 15 Hz to 150 kHz (+/- 0.1 dB) with minimal distortion and low noise. The switching arsenal of the new product includes two pairs of balanced inputs and outputs on XLR connectors and unbalanced inputs and outputs on RCA.
