Hisense has just released the Hisense Touch Lite, which is a dedicated music player and book reader. It’s a little different from the Hisense Touch HIFi music player that was released a couple of months ago. The main differences are the smaller amount of RAM and the same goes for the internal storage. However, if you want a reliable music player that can play all major formats and has a 3.5mm headphone jack, this is good value for money. You can order it for $299 from the Good e-Reader Store.
Hisense Touch features a 5.84mm E INK Carta HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 at 287 PPI. It is equipped with a front-lit display and a color temperature system, so you can not only listen to music, but also read e-books. Under the hood is a Qualcomm quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a USB-C port for charging the device and WIFI for accessing the Internet and downloading applications. The device supports Bluetooth 5.1, so you can connect a pair of headphones to it, but HIFI audio cannot be transmitted over Bluetooth as it uses different codecs. The device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and weighs 155g.
The device has a high build quality, is made of aluminum and supports 32-bit/384 kHz audio. Audio is played through dual AAC 1216 stereo speakers or a 3.5mm headphone jack with volume levels up to 122dB. The device is also equipped with the Dirac Powered Sound system. The device runs on an operating system called Touch OS, which is based on Google Android 11.
One of the most interesting aspects of the music player is that it runs Android 11, which is the first time we have seen a modern OS on an E INK device . Hisense is literally the only brand in the world that takes HIFI music on E INK screen seriously. Unlike the new Sony Walkman, which costs over $3,500 or more, you get over a month of battery life.
Price: $299
