With the stylish retro-look VU meters in the limited Evo 150 DeLorean Edition, Cambridge Audio caused a great stir and excitement among retro hi-fi fans. The desire to integrate this feature into other devices quickly arose. The latest, free firmware update for the streaming amplifier models Evo 75 , Evo 150 and Evo 150 DeLorean Edition includes this feature, from which the new CXN100 also benefits.

VU meter or digital clock

The new screen functions are free and extremely easy to get. The built-in software is updated via the permanent Internet connection “over the air”. This means that all CXN100 and Evo models have the new display options, which can be accessed via the Info button on the front of the device. This gives the listener the option of displaying the VU meters, an easy-to-read digital clock or the display of the current album cover during playback.

Full support for Tidal Connect Hi-Res

All current Cambridge network products benefit from the constant updates of the internal streaming protocols.

With a recent update , unrestricted use of Tidal Connect Hi-Res is now possible with the corresponding Tidal subscriptions and the popular service’s proprietary HiRes streams.

Other protocols such as Bluetooth , Airplay and Chromecast are also constantly updated and their functions improved.

New preset management and variable outputs

With the new app version, the presets and the transfer of played tracks to playlists are easier to handle than before. Cambridge Audio already introduced an additional volume control function for the analog outputs in an earlier firmware version.

Using the StreamMagic app, all compatible network players can be switched to variable output volume and serve as digital preamplifiers. In the models of the Evo and CXN series, this function is already included in the factory firmware.

Cambridge Audio EVO and CXN100: Updates free of charge

The latest firmware version for EVO and CXN100 as well as all Cambridge Audio network devices is now available as an “over-the-air update”. Owners of older models back to the 851N also benefit from new functions. The download and installation are automatically recognized by the device and only need to be confirmed by the user.
