To ensure better analog sound reproduction in the A&futura SE300 audio player, the DAC and AMP sections were combined for the first time during the initial development phase.
The SE300 comes with an R-2R DAC, instead of the Delta-Sigma DAC most commonly used in other audio players. The R-2R DAC, also known as a Ladder DAC because it places resistors in a rung shape, offers a natural yet dynamic Hi-Fi sound, but it is extremely technical and difficult to implement, requiring complex high-precision resistor blocks and difficult-to-control current controllers.
However, despite these technical challenges, after several years of development and testing, the brand’s engineers managed to overcome this and create a new analog sound. In the process, each of the 96 high-precision resistors was selected in detail and the R-2R DAC technology was completed.
