The Violectric PPA V 790 phono preamplifier features a balanced design and supports six distinct pickup heads. This innovative model includes three unbalanced RCA inputs and three balanced XLR Phono inputs, allowing for individual adjustments of impedance, capacitance, gain level, equalization type, and subsonic filter for each input. Users can easily modify these settings via the buttons located on the front panel, with current configurations indicated by white LEDs. Traditional switches for MM/MC cartridges have been omitted in this design.

The gain can be adjusted across seven distinct levels, ranging from +30 dB to +66 dB. Additionally, a clipping indicator is provided to verify the appropriateness of the gain setting. This phono preamplifier offers three equalization options; alongside the standard RIAA curve, users can select the NAB and Columbia-LP standards for specialized recordings. The precision of the equalization curves is maintained at 0.1 dB. Furthermore, a switchable infrasonic filter is included to mitigate low-frequency disturbances.
