The Luxman M-700u is a stereo power amplifier that is the ideal partner for the Luxman C-700u preamplifier. The amplifier output power is 120 W per channel into 8 ohms or 210 W per channel into 4 ohms, with instantaneous power reaching 840 W per channel into 1 ohm. In addition, at the user’s choice, the amplifier can operate in mono mode with a rated power of 420 W at 8 ohms.

Luxman M-700u is made in the classic design of the company, with a laconic front panel, the main decoration of which is the signal level indicators. Structurally, the device is made on the basis of the very successful M-600a model, but is equipped with a new version of proprietary feedback ODNF 4.0, which makes it possible to further reduce sound distortion. In addition, the Luxman M-700u amplifier provides the possibility of bridged BTL connection, if used in an acoustic system with a complex impedance characteristic. Although, even in normal stereo mode, the device is capable of operating a load with a resistance of up to one Ohm, while developing an output power of 840 W per channel. The amplifier circuit contains a minimum number of elements, but all of them are of high quality, and undergo mandatory input control at the Luxman factory. The output stages of Luxman M-700u operate in push-pull mode and are made using several bipolar transistors connected in parallel.

The basis of the Luxman M-700u power supply is a proprietary network transformer of enormous power, and separate power filters for the left and right channels. The Luxman M-700u is designed using the dual mono principle, with both channels mounted on separate printed circuit boards mounted directly on the heatsinks on the sides of the case. The large area of the radiators on which the output transistors are mounted made it possible to do without forced ventilation. The Luxman M-700u amplifier must be placed in such a way that there is enough space for natural air convection on all sides of it.

The Luxman M-700u amplifier is equipped with balanced and unbalanced inputs, switching of which is done using buttons on the front panel. Switches on the rear panel allow you to use bridged (BTL) or two-channel operating modes of the Luxman M-700u, as well as, if necessary, invert the phase of the input signal. Convenient large-diameter screw terminals are provided for connecting speaker systems, and the contact surfaces of all connectors on the rear panel are gold-plated.
