Electric Audio is a recently established amplifier brand from Germany, which unveiled its inaugural products, the TAE 150 and PAE 150, at the latest High End Munich event. Although Electric Audio is a new name in the industry, it operates as a subsidiary or sister brand of the renowned German loudspeaker manufacturer Gauder Akustik. The TAE 150 functions as an integrated amplifier, while the PAE serves as a stereo power amplifier.
Electric Audio benefits from the expertise of Gauder Akustik. The Electric Audio TAE 150 marks the manufacturer’s inaugural amplifier, recognized for its premium speakers.
The Electric Audio TAE 150 was introduced at the High End event in Munich (which will be held in Vienna next year). This integrated semiconductor amplifier features a somewhat innovative amplification method that reportedly eliminates the need for a preamplifier. It is rated at around 130 watts per channel at eight ohms, 215 watts at four ohms, and 365 watts at two ohms. The power supply utilizes a 1,000 VA transformer along with a filter capacity of 80,000 uF. Consequently, the device can provide a peak current of up to 70 amps, as stated by the manufacturer. The TAE 150 is equipped solely with analog inputs.
The PAE 150, the second unit from Electric Audio, is a power amplifier that is the same as the TAE 150, with the exception that it lacks a preamplifier section. Nevertheless, when paired with the integrated amplifier, the volume can be adjusted independently. This feature makes the PAE 150 perfect for bi-amping applications.
The measurements of each amplifier are 435 x 195 x 390 millimeters (width x height x depth), and each amplifier has a weight of 22 kilograms.
