Poland-based audio manufacturer Circle Labs has introduced the V1000, a premium adjustable phono amplifier. This model is compatible with both MM and MC cartridges and incorporates a custom-designed step-up transformer specifically for MC cartridges. The audio signal is processed through a tube circuit.
The step-up transformer in the V1000 has undergone a complete redesign. Its primary winding features a braided wire configuration with 25 individual conductors, each insulated by a silk braid. The secondary winding utilizes high-purity copper wire. This innovative design allows for exceptionally low resistance values (0.25 Ohm / 22 Ohm), effectively reducing signal loss from the connected component.
The output from the step-up transformer is directed to the preamplifier stage, allowing for the direct connection of a potential MM element. The circuit design incorporates two tubes for each channel, specifically an ECC88 and a 6922. This configuration operates without the use of negative feedback. The design is entirely dual mono, featuring fully independent and isolated circuits for both the right and left channels. To minimize power supply interference, the power transformers are contained within a separate enclosure. The power supply is equipped with Mundorf polypropylene capacitors.
The Circle Labs V1000 is equipped with two inputs, each capable of connecting to either an MM or MC cartridge. It includes rotary controls on the front panel and micro switches on the rear, allowing for versatile adaptation to a variety of cartridges.
