Norwegian loudspeaker manufacturer Ø Audio is poised to unveil its latest product, the Icon 12, at the Florida International Audio Expo 2025 in Tampa, scheduled for February 21–23, 2025. This introduction signifies a significant step in Ø Audio’s global growth, following its successful market entries in the US, Canada, and the UK earlier this year.
The Icon 12 is engineered for exceptional compatibility with amplifiers, featuring a high-efficiency design that allows it to operate seamlessly with low-power tube amplifiers, as well as Class A, Class AB, and Class D amplifiers. With a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and remarkable sensitivity, it is designed to deliver outstanding audio performance in both small listening environments and larger spaces, capable of producing high volumes without sacrificing quality.
A standout feature of the Icon 12 is its asymmetrical cabinet design, which avoids parallel walls to reduce internal resonances and unwanted reflections. Ø Audio has also carefully crafted the horn and driver arrangement to ensure controlled directivity, enhancing the speaker’s adaptability to various acoustic settings. The company claims that the result is a sound that is both airy and fluid, while also being powerful and majestic.
Although Ø Audio has not yet disclosed detailed technical specifications, pricing, or availability, the Icon 12 is already creating excitement among audiophiles who are eagerly anticipating its official release.
