GoldenEar ForceField 30 and 40: Ultra-compact subwoofers

GoldenEar has released the ForceField 30 and 40 subwoofers, “ultra-compact” subwoofers with “extended response” capabilities. The ForceField 30 showed a bottom frequency limit of 18 Hz in an 11.4 x 16 x 12.7-inch cabinet, while the ForceField 40 drops it down to 14 Hz from a 13.3 x 18.3 x 14.7-inch cabinet.

Both models are rated up to 250 Hz and feature a direct-coupled LFE line-level input that is not low-pass filtered. Paired stereo line-level input provides DSP low-pass filtering from 40 Hz to 150 Hz.

The smaller ForceField 30 reduces the driver diameter to 8 inches, cuts the digital amplifier power to 1000 watts, and cuts several inches from the infrasonic driver dimensions to fit into a 9 x 11-inch enclosure.
