TEAC has announced the launch of the TN-400BT X/TB, a special, limited edition of its popular Bluetooth belt-drive turntable series. The new turntable sports a striking glossy turquoise blue finish (hence the addition of “TB” to the model designation) and, according to the manufacturer, combines vintage analogue charm with modern wireless convenience and high-quality technology.
Teac TN-400BT-X/TB: belt-driven turntable

The TN-400BT X/TB inherits all the performance features that have made the TN-400BT series so beloved by vinyl enthusiasts while, according to the designers, introducing a vibrant new aesthetic. The new turntable’s chassis is constructed from high-quality MDF for exceptional rigidity and vibration damping. The turquoise blue high-gloss lacquer cabinet features milled aluminum knobs, gold-plated RCA connectors, and floating decoupled feet, creating a turntable that is both technically advanced and visually appealing.

The turntable platter features a belt drive based on a DC motor. The user can select between 33 1/3, 45, and 78 rpm. A low-friction spindle with brass bearings ensures stable rotational accuracy (wow and flutter less than 0.2%), while the S-shaped, statically balanced tonearm with adjustable counterweight, anti-skating, and gold-plated universal arm head contacts ensures precise tracking and natural analog reproduction. An Audio-Technica AT95E MM cartridge is factory-installed.
Teac TN-400BT-X/TB: Bluetooth 5.2 and a built-in phono amplifier

In keeping with the current zeitgeist, the turntable features a built-in Bluetooth 5.2 transmitter, supporting Qualcomm aptX Adaptive, aptX, and SBC codecs for high-quality, low-latency wireless streaming to compatible headphones and speakers. One-touch pairing and an LED indicator simplify connection, and up to eight paired devices can be stored.

For wired setups, the turntable features a high-quality built-in phono amplifier based on the NJM8080 operational amplifier. The phono amplifier can also be bridged if the user wishes to use an external phono amplifier. The RCA output is gold-plated.
